How it works
"Booking notes, loadmasters and cradles "
|
When we receive your request we start investigating transport possibilities. As an independent broker we give you all the options, dates and prices. We will look at the different options such as float-on/ float-off, lift-on/lift-off, transport by truck or even by PYD (Personal Yacht Delivery), putting a crew on a yacht.

Booking:
Once you have decided to transport your yacht through Starclass Yachts, we will send you a booking note. The booking note is a contract of carriage between you, as the client, and the shipping company. Starclass will only act as broker/forwarder. In this booking note are mentioned the details of the yacht, the shipping price, the route, and furthermore clauses about the rights and obligations of the carrier and client. Most times the shipping line asks for a deposit of 25% of the total freight on signing the booking note. The deposit will be kept on our bank account untill the yacht is loaded and then will be transferred to the shipping line together with the balance of 75% of the freight costs.. |
Why you should book with Starclass Yachts:
By booking with us as your broker, we keep the down payment in our account till the loading is complete.So you stay in charge of your booking, with the possibility to cancel without possible money loss if the shipping line is in breach of contract. If you book direct with a shipping company the down payment of 25%, or even the full freight has to be paid direct to the shipping companies account. By doing this you lose all influence / power over your booking. There is no possibility to cancel when the shipping line is late, or does not perform the way they should. The signed booking note has to be returned to us together with the yacht's registry and pro forma invoice (for customs purposes). We will have the booking note countersigned by the shipping company. You will receive the invoice and when we receive the down payment, the booking will be confirmed.

Loading:
We will keep you updated on the ATA ( Actual Time of Arrival) of the carrier in the loading port and also about the scheduled time of the loading of your yacht.
You will stay in direct contact with the loadmaster and he will ask you to bring the yacht alongside the carrier at a certain time. Once the yacht is moored alongside, your job is done. You can lock up your yacht and hand over the keys to the loadmaster or the Captain of the carrier.
Your yacht will be lashed and secured supervision of the loadmaster. Once all the yachts are loaded, lashed and secured and the paperwork is done, the carrier will leave the port. Starclass will keep you updated on the arrival date in the discharging port.
